Colour and pattern
Energy of life and light
Being a gardener I am taken by the colours of flowers and the shapes of petals – the patterns of nature.
This image came about after trying to paint a rose in a more traditional way.
The shapes of the petals kept recurring in my dream until I got up and sketched this basic pattern.
I played around with the colours quite a lot but the form and pattern of the flowers remained the same as my dream image.
I loved the energy of the colours and patterns and it felt like a ‘true’ vision of the energy of flowers.
